Batavia Boardwalk Shops 2025 Application Opens September 5

Applications for the popular Batavia business incubator spaces are due by December 15, 2024.

If you have a budding business and want to propel it to the next level, Batavia MainStreet invites you to apply for one of their 10 12x12 Batavia Boardwalk Shops spaces available. The Batavia Boardwalk Shops Program is designed to attract small businesses, create more retail shopping, and bring people into Downtown Batavia for both this unique destination and the rest of downtown. “This season we’ve had visitors from 180 unique zip codes shop the Boardwalk,” says Batavia MainStreet Assistant Director, Kristen Desler.
 
Over the last five seasons, the Batavia Boardwalk Shops have had 21 businesses move to a permanent location following their season with 10 currently occupying brick and mortar space in Downtown Batavia.
 
“We will be holding our first Virtual Q&A for interested vendors on Tuesday, September 24^th at 7pm,” says Desler. “This is a great opportunity for those considering applying to learn more about the program from Batavia MainStreet Directors, former tenant and Boardwalk Committee member, and get business advice from Waubonsee Community College’s Small Business Development Center expert.” Email info@downtownbatavia.com for a link to join the Q&A.
 
The shops are scheduled to begin their sixth season on May 9th, 2025, and allow business owners to rent space, showcase their wares and services, and learn how to successfully manage a store. “We are looking for variety in our existing downtown retail,” says Desler.
 
Applicants will be invited for interviews with members of the jury committee this fall and 2025 tenants will be selected no later than January 1.
